OVERVIEW
BLOOMY TABLE is an archive exhibition project based on various methods, to express a personal experience of growing plants and keeping records of the process. This project was designed in the hopes to comfort and share the fun experience with those who have been knocked down by reality, through a visual communication based on a three-month-record of the growth of my plants and myself.
BLOOMY TABLE은 식물을 키우고 그 일상을 꾸준히 기록하면서 마음에 안정을 얻었던 개인적인 경험을 다양한 방식으로 엮어낸 아카이빙 전시 프로젝트입니다. 3개월 간의 식물과 나의 성장을 기록하고, 이를 디자인을 통해 시각적으로 커뮤니케이션함으로써, 현실에 치여 지친 이들에게 위로를 전하고 이 즐거운 경험을 함께하기를 권유합니다.

Background
BLOOMY TABLE is an archive exhibition project based on various methods, to express a personal experience of growing plants and keeping records of the process. This project was designed in the hopes to comfort and share the fun experience with those who have been knocked down by reality, through a visual communication based on a three-month-record of the growth of my plants and myself. This project aims to provide the visitors with an enjoyable and pleasant experience, rather than to approach them with a commercial objective.
BLOOMY TABLE은 식물을 키우고 그 일상을 꾸준히 기록하면서 마음에 안정을 얻었던 개인적인 경험을 다양한 방식으로 엮어낸 아카이브 형식의 전시 프로젝트입니다. 3개월 간의 식물과 나의 성장을 기록하고, 이를 디자인을 통해 시각적으로 커뮤니케이션함으로써, 현실에 치여 지친 이들에게 위로를 전하고 이 즐거운 경험을 함께하기를 권유합니다. 이 프로젝트는 관람객에게 상업적으로 접근하기보다는, 그들에게 즐겁고 기억에 남을만한 경험을 제공하는 것을 목표로 합니다.
Strategy
The visitors can take a peek at my personal records uploaded on the archiving website. This website gives seed recommendations for visitors, and provides tools appropriate for recording. The website thus helps the visitors to participate in the soothing experience themselves. Visitors can also participate in the recording activities provided within the exhibition area, so that they can take the time to ponder and record their thoughts from observing the plants. The anonymously documented records can be shared with other visitors, and the shared experience can again contribute to the archive of healing.
Based on the features of Bloomy table, which are plants, records, healing, and sharing, the brand essence has been therefore defined as a Peaceful Life-log. Accordingly, the core values of growth, achievement, stability, and sympathy, was derived, and the core values were transposed into the design keywords Linear, Clear, Relaxed, and Mild, in order to communicate with consistency in all aspects of brand experience.
관람객은 아카이빙 웹의 나의 개인적인 기록들을 엿보며 치유 과정을 함께 느낍니다. 이 웹사이트는 그들에게 적합한 씨앗을 추천하고, 기록을 위한 도구를 제공합니다. 이로서 그들 스스로도 치유를 경험할 수 있도록 돕습니다. 또한 전시장에 마련된 기록 활동에 참여함으로서 식물을 관찰하며 가만히 생각을 기록하는 시간을 가집니다. 익명으로 쓰인 기록들은 다른 관람객들과 공유되고, 이를 통해 서로 공감대를 형성하여 결국 또 다른 치유의 기록이 아카이빙됩니다.
이러한 Bloomy Table의 식물, 기록, 치유, 공유라는 특성을 기반으로 brand essence를 Peaceful Life-log로 정의했습니다. 이에 따라 성장, 성취, 안정, 공감이라는 core value를 도출하였고 이를 Linear, Clear, Relaxed, Mild라는 design keyword로 치환하여 모든 브랜드 경험 접점에서 일관성있게 커뮤니케이션하였습니다.
Design
The graphic motif of BLOOMY TABLE is the use of simple, plain, and realistic, linear forms in black and white, with marginal spacing, to visually express the features of the soothing process and recordings. For the typography, the clean and clear-cut shaped Sans Serif, with its spaced outlines, was selected. As can be seen, all the graphic elements including the logo and the illustration has features of spacing that is easy and resting on the eyes, and this also contributes to delivering the overall tranquility and serenity of BLOOMY TABLE.
Moreover, the interaction exclusive through the website was designed to give the visitors a more realistic and shared experience, by allowing the visitors to pick an actual tool used for growing the plants and view its records or to see a 360-degree photograph of where I stood.
Not only the visual elements, but the tone, scent, music, and the object textures are also defined to add to the comfort based on the multifaceted experience.
BLOOMY TABLE의 그래픽 모티브는 블랙과 화이트 컬러의, 여백이 있고, 간결하고, 꾸밈없는, 사실적인 라인 형태를 사용하여 치유와 기록이라는 특징을 시각적으로 표현합니다. 타이포그래피에는 여백이 있는 아웃라인 형태의 반듯하고 또렷한 산세리프체를 선정하였습니다. 이처럼 로고와 일러스트레이션과 같은 모든 그래픽요소에 여백을 주어 눈으로 읽어가며 쉬어갈 수 있는 틈을 주었고, 이는 전반적으로 BLOOMY TABLE의 잔잔한 여유와 편안한 이미지를 전달합니다.
또한 식물을 키우는 데에 직접 사용했던 도구를 선택하여 그에 대한 기록을 관람하거나, 식물과 내가 있었던 장소를 360도 사진으로 직접 둘러보는 것과 같은 웹만의 인터렉션을 통해 관람객에게 사실적인 느낌을 더하여 더 친근히 공감할 수 있도록 디자인하였습니다.
이러한 시각적 요소뿐만 아니라 BLOOMY TABLE만의 어조, 향기, 음악, 오브젝트의 재질 등을 규정하여 복합적 경험을 통한 편안한 느낌을 더합니다.
